Rodney Alan Boyle, 63, of Ankeny died September 28, 2018, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 2, at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Ankeny with burial following at Ankeny Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., with Rosary at 6:30 p.m., on Monday, October 1 at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 North Ankeny Blvd.).

Rod was born in 1955 to Charles Boyle and Bertie Boyle. Rod graduated from Bishop Heelan Catholic High School in Sioux City and Iowa State University, and earned an MBA from Drake University. In 1980 Rod married Diane Kay Horsley. They lived in Ankeny, Iowa, where he worked for Iowa Power and Light Company and then MidAmerican Energy for over 35 years. Rod and Diane had one daughter, Cynthia.

He is survived by his daughter Cynthia Boyle Lande, son-in-law John Lande, granddaughter Katherine Diane Lande, mother Bertie Boyle; two brothers and three sisters and their spouses: Elizabeth and John Farmer of Sioux City; Kathleen and Ken Wiskus of Lake Mills, WI; Randal and Nancy Boyle of Sioux City; Deidre and Gary Engel of Sioux City; and Bryon and Barbara Boyle of St. Louis, and many nieces and nephews.

Rod was preceded in death by his wife, Diane, and father, Charles.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
