Paul Louis Evans, 74, passed away on September 10, 2019.. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 Friday, September 13, 2019 at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Catholic Church, family will great friends 1 hour prior to service.
He was born on April 11, 1945 in Warrington, England to Louis Arthur Evans and Ruby Margaret Cahill. Paul graduated from Ankeny High School in 1963 and from Iowa State University in 1968. He spent most of his life in the service industry, being a waiter at the Holiday Inn and Savery Hotel in Des Moines. He spent the majority of his spare time volunteering and helping those in need, putting others before himself.
He was both an Iowa State and Hawkeye fan, except when they played each other then he was all for his alma mater. He loved learning, always reading and researching new topics. His faith was most important to him, which he practiced on a daily basis. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is preceded in death by his father, Louis Evans, and mother, Ruby Evans. He is survived by his sisters, Karen Evans and Mary (Jeff) Hudson, two nieces, Amy (Mitch) Elbert and Angie (Jeff) Keller, three grandnephews and one grandniece.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Church in Ankeny.
