Heart Emblem

Madeleine Taylor, 70, of Polk City passed away September 18, 2016.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N Ankeny Blvd). A visitation will be held 6 to 8:00p.m., Wednesday, Sept.21, also at the funeral home.
Madeleine was born March 3, 1946 in Kansas City, MO. She graduated high school in 1964, and then graduated from Central Missouri State University in 1968. She was then married to William A. Taylor August 31, 1968. They made their home in Warrensburg, MO while Bill finished his Master's degree.
She worked for Missouri Social Services Dept. until they moved to Adel, IA, and she went to work for the Iowa Social Services Dept. in Adel.
Together she and Bill led the high school church youth group at the Methodist church in Adel.
In 1973 they moved to Polk City where they raised their 4 children.
Madeleine was involved with a number of church activities at the Evangelical Free church for a number of years. The church later combined with Lakeside Fellowship in Polk City. She also had an in-home daycare that she ran for nearly 15 years. She then started teaching pre-school at Bethany Reformed Church and also went to work for Maurice's distribution center. She was the kid's activities manager while Bill was coaching, making sure they made it to each activity.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, and spending time with her friends in a couple of social groups.
Madeleine is survived by her husband Bill; 4 children, "Billy" (Sarah), Leigh (John) Salter, Clay (Lindsey), Linnae (Jacob) Buckles; 6 grandchildren, Klarissa, Kira, Sophia, Alyssa, Nathan, and Emma; 1 great-granddaughter, Jaylen; a brother Bill (Connie) Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Inez Johnson, and a sister Cathy Gifford.
Madeleine believed in the Lord and never had anything negative to say about others. Even in her battle with Parkinson's, her smile and attitude would light up the people around her.
