Loren Ray Bowers, 66, of Ankeny passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends on August 31, 2016.
He was born December 15, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa. He grew up in Carney and graduated from Ankeny High School in 1969. He joined the City of Ankeny as a police officer in 1970 and served his community until he retired in 1995. After his retirement he joined Graham Construction as a building manager until 2006.
Loren enjoyed watching NASCAR, corvettes, car shows, gun shows and attending the Iowa State Fair. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and his beloved dogs. He touched the lives of those who knew him, by always being ready and willing to lend a hand or help anyone, and he always did it with a smile.
Loren is survived by his daughters Jamie Danielson (Matt) and Lisa "Cookie" Bowers: 2 grandchildren, Owen and Hudson Danielson: his companion Carolyn Sears: siblings Gary Bowers, Jim Webb, and Linda Erb and many other loving family members.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Memorial Services of Iowa funeral home (4208 N Ankeny Blvd) a visitation will be held 5 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, also at the funeral home.
