Lois Ades, 79, of Ankeny passed away October 10, 2016 with her family by her side at Mercy Hospital.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, Oct. 14, 2016 at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N Ankeny Blvd)
Lois was born May 10, 1937 in Grundy Center, IA. She graduated from Boone High School, and married George Ades January 20, 1957.
They made their home in Boone, IA until 1961, when they moved to Ankeny where they raised their 3 daughters.
She went to work for the Ankeny school system, where she worked for 31 years until her retirement in 1998.
She enjoyed her Pinochle card club that she belonged to for 40 years, she loved shopping, camping, cooking, travel, cruises, the casino, and spending time with her family.
Lois is survived by her husband of 59 years, George; 3 daughters, Pam (Danny) Dorsey, Dee Knop (fiance Reggie Erwin), Julie (Kris) Anderson; 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 brothers.
She was preceded in death by her parents Walt and Margaret Shuey, and 2 sisters.
