When he retired from Northern Propane he couldn't be idle, so he worked at various jobs until they moved to the next phase of their life making the move to Des Moines in 1991 to be closer to their grandchildren. Later in life Gordon kept busy with his garden, wood working and spending time with his grandchildren. All who knew Gordon, knew he was an avid baseball fan especially his beloved Chicago Cubs. Gordon was a great family man, he loved his family above all else, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Gordon is survived by his son David (Diana); his daughter, Donnette (Gary) Grimes; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at EdenCrest Beaverdale. Thanks also to Jennifer and the team with Care Initiatives for Gordon's care and comfort during this time.
