Mr. Gene Paul Jackson passed away Tuesday, July 21st, 2020 at his home in Polk City, IA at the age of 68.

Gene was born December 2, 1951 in Belmond, Iowa to Bonnie and the late Clarence Jackson. Gene was active in high school sports at Corwith-Wesley High School and graduated in the class of 1970. Following high school, he attended North Iowa Area Community College and Iowa State University and graduated from the University of Iowa in 1987. Gene worked for the State Department of Corrections and he was an educational coordinator for Children and Families of Iowa. Before his retirement he worked as a realtor for Iowa Realty. He was united in marriage to Richardine Lenger in 1988, to which a son was born.

Gene was an avid planner for his next great outdoor adventure. He had a passion for big lake fishing, hunting, woodworking, and motorcycle riding. Some of his most memorable adventures were with his son Dean motorcycle riding to Sturgis, Tail of the Dragon, and Florida's Bike Week. He and Dean went on trips all over the United States hunting wild boar, elk, deer, turkey, pheasant, and Texas Dall Ram. Every trip with Gene was more than expected with good laughs and all sorts of debacles. More important than any trip to hunt or ride was how Gene adored his son Dean and taught him the value of time together experiencing life to the fullest without spending a lot of money. He was a loving husband, father, brother, son, and friend to many and will be greatly missed.

Gene is preceded in death by his father, Clarence (Bob) Jackson; stepfather, Arnold Heise; brother, John Jackson; best friend, Jim Maley and nephew, Andrew Gvist.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Richardine Jackson; son, Dean and his wife, Alexis, of Wright City, Missouri; mother, Bonnie Heise, of Fowler, Indiana; sister, Judy Betten and her husband Jack, of Fowler, Indiana; sister, Carol Meyer and husband Don, of North Branch, Minnesota; brother, Mark Heise and wife Tammy, of West Branch, Iowa; sister, Barb Arndt, of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin; dearest family member, Betty Jo Maley, of Clarinda, Iowa; and many other friends and family.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday July 25, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd). Following the service, a visitation will continue till 7:00 p.m.
