Love Emblem

Donna Lee Gift, 83, of Ankeny was surrounded by love at her home with her family and husband of 61 years, Thomas Gift, when God called her home on September 11, 2019. A visitation and prayer service will be held at Ankeny Memorial Funeral Home, 4208 North Ankeny Blvd Ankeny, IA, from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2019. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, September 16, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Catholic Church, 510 E 1st St, Ankeny, IA, with Father James officiating.
Donna was born on December 13, 1935, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Rosco and Helen (Berry) Hampshire. She married her one true love, Thomas Gift, on November 29th, 1958. To this marriage were born four children, Thomas Gift II, Michelle Sajovec, Kristie House and Gina Sykes.
Donna is survived by her husband of 61 years, Thomas Gift, son, Thomas Gift II, and daughters, Gina Sykes (Brian), Michelle Sajovec, and Kristie House, and 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Donna lived her life with love, kindness, commitment, loyalty, compassion, and with a pure joy that touched everyone that knew her. She was the definition of happiness, selflessness, and unconditional love. Her whole world revolved around her family and especially her grandchildren. Donna was one of a kind and she will be deeply missed by many. Although it is difficult at this time, she would want all her friends and family to celebrate her life with love and laughter, and her family hopes to do just that with all who can make it to her visitation and funeral.
The Gift Family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at St. Croix Hospice for their dedication, kindness, and care over the past 7 months.
