Condolence & Memory Journal

I am so sad to hear of Dave's passing. My prayers go out to Lynhon and the family. Dave was a wonderful man and a great person to work with. When in the DHS Ottumwa District Office I was his secretary and he always treated me with the utmost respect and truly was appreciative of my work for him and the team. I know he will be so missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Lynhon,

I am very sorry for your loss. During the years I worked in Children and Family Services, Dave was someone who stood on for his genuine care and service. His opinion I sought; his advice I always accepted. Even during difficult times, Dave was always supportive and kind. I am sorry I have not been in touch with either of you over the years. May his memory be for a blessing . Ralph Rosenberg

Lynhon - I am so sorry for your loss. Dave fought a long and courageous battle. I always enjoyed Dave and was always impressed with his unyielding dedication to Children and Adolescents in Iowa. I really enjoyed all my years with DHS, we had a great group of people to work with over the years. Both you and Dave were definitely part of that group. Dave was very fortunate to have you in his life and for all the excellent care you provided him in these past few years. My heart goes out to you at this sad time. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Dave was a great example of what a DHS Manager should be. Dave will be greatly missed by all of us who were fortunate enough to have know him and also worked with him. Rick Johnson

I was saddened to hear of Dave's passing. He was one of the good guys. As I look back at the people I have come to know in my involvement with social work in Polk County there are some that leave an indelible impression in a very positive way. They leave a hole in many ways when they pass. Dave was one of those. My condolences to those who survive him and I am sorry that because of the times that we can not adequately pay tribute. . KEN

The life he lived for you , Jennifer and his grandchildren was impressive.
I hope we can share memories together when you are able to have his celebration of life.
As always,

Dave left a wonderful legacy of care and concern for persons in need in our community. He was a great professional in the field and a mentor for all of us. I enjoyed his humor and his skill in managing staff. He was a real leader who brought people together and will be missed by the field. Best wishes to Lynhon and his family. Earl Kelly
