Condolence & Memory Journal

Dave: I think of you and your wonderful family frequently and fondly. Your dad and mom spoke of you often and with the highest pride. I know the sentiment was mutually shared. Your folks were very proud of you and your accomplishments. You, your wife and children have a thousand memories to catalogue now and forever. Best regards, partner.

Dear David,
We extend our deepest sympathies to you and your family for the loss of your mother. She will be greatly missed. You all were so dear to her.

Kay and I (Roberta) were the same age and grew up together in the little Swedish towns of Dayton and Boxholm, Iowa. We went to two different churches but our Youth Fellowships did a lot together and that's how I really got to know her. We both became teachers, even found ourselves in classes together at ISU. We each had wonderful husbands who enjoyed friendship, too. We each had one child, nearly the same age. We enjoyed so many years of the four us gathering for lunches and visiting. We shared many Swedish traditions that stayed with us throughout the years.

It has to be hard to lose both parents so close together. We have faith that they are together again.

Blessings to each of you,
Roberta and Jim Swanson

Dave and Angela, Olivia, Claire, and Amelia,
We are sorry to hear of the loss of your precious Mother and Grandmother. What a special lady we know she was from the thorough and interesting obituary someone carefully shared. We know that you will miss her deeply, but can take comfort in knowing that she is with her Jesus, her Lord and Savior. May God comfort you and wrap His loving Abba Father arms around you and give you peace.

Thinking of all of you. Your Mom was the first person that reached out to me when we moved to Ankeny. She had me over for coffee and introduced me to some of your Sharon St friends. We had connections from your cousin Neela, my family was Swedish and from the Dayton area. Small world! Your Mom was always so friendly. We had good discussions about our Swedish recipes.
