Lorna was a great teacher—part of that Terrace 2nd Grade team. She was a wonderful caring person at school and at her church. Don, may the love of friends and family carry you through this sad time.

I remember Lorna from Woodston, Kansas where we in the same grade 1 through 10. Before either of us could drive. I remember the MURPHY and Painter grocery store It was in a two story brick building on the south side of main street. We, our class, Were in grade school in a tall, brick building south and west of "downtown"
.

Lorna always had a smile on her face and kind words of encouragement. She was part of a teaching team that truly made learning fun for kids. I will always be grateful that my children, Andrew and Heidi, had the opportunity to cross paths in this journey of life with such a positive role model during their elementary years at Terrace.

I’m so sorry to hear of Lorna’s passing. I only knew her from visiting my mother, who also just recently passed, at Trinity Center. I loved seeing her there. She seemed like such a sweet, gentle soul and although we never verbally communicated I felt a bond with her. She would come over to where we were and sit with us. My condolences goes out to Lorna’s family.

I'm the eldest daughter of Wilma, Lorna's older sister. As children my siblings and I loved the holidays and birthdays when Aunt Lorna would visit. She was so beautiful and even then had a gift with kids. She never failed to delight us ;reading our favorite stories, complete with different voices for each character and sound effects! Her gifts were often hand crafted and one of a kind. Her christmas packages were always the prettiest of all. Sadly she and both of her siblings suffered too long at the end. It is some comfort to think of them together now, all happy and at their best. Best wishes to all for a better New Year.

I had the pleasure of working with Lorna at Terrace Elementary for nine years of my teaching career in Art. She always had a smile on her face and a positive outlook on every situation. Lorna adored her profession and the children in her classroom. She will always be remembered as a beloved member of the Terrace faculty.

I am a second cousin to Lorna. Grew up knowing her through our family gatherings. For those on Facebook there are some wonderful comments on the site "Remembering Woodston". Lorna was the youngest "Cook cousin girls". She had the best personality and was wonderful to visit with. I went to Hutchinson Junior College when she taught in Hutchinson schools. We would ride back home on the weekends when timing was right. She had a great laugh and wonderful smile. She would call my mother Dorothy and visit with her on several occasion throughout the year checking on family and what was happening back home. Great memories of her and her family. So thankful that Don got her back to my mothers 90th birthday party in 2016. If times were different we would love to be at the service. Peace be with the family.

So sorry to hear of Lorna's passing, although we know that she has suffered for many years and is finally at peace. Lorna and I were birthday twins and enjoyed teasing each other every April 18. My great niece, Ruby Terrell, always spoke of what a great, caring teacher Lorna was. Lorna was a fun and very involved person at church, and was dearly missed these last few years. Prayers for you, Don and boys. Rest In Peace, Lorna.

I thank God for Mrs. Agard! She was one of the teachers I have the most memories of as a student at Terrace. I remember once approaching her desk and accidentally calling her "mom" to get her attention. I was so embarrassed but she was so kind :) I remember her gentle way about her and how she kept this cool tank of swimming frogs near the front of the class. Everyone loved her.

She had such a strong impact on me as a young growing girl and her leadership has blessed me and I know countless others. I pray that she is now at peace and in glory with Jesus. She was so loved and will be missed by so many!
