Tribute & Message From The Family

Connor James Moll, 21, passed away November 16, 2020. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines (925 Jordan Creek Pkwy. West Des Moines, Iowa). Please follow this link to view the live stream

He was born on September 28, 1999 in Des Moines. He graduated from Waukee High School in 2018 and was currently a junior at the University of Iowa.
Connor lived his 21 years to the fullest. He was loved beyond measure and fully reciprocated that love to his family and friends. He had a kind and gentle spirit, an easy-going personality, and loved to laugh.

Connor had a special connection with nature, in particular hiking, fishing, and mountain climbing. He had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel with his family.
Connor was passionate about sports. He especially loved watching NBA and NFL games with his friends. He never gave up hope on the Minnesota Timberwolves. He also loved to watch NCAA football and basketball games with his dad – cheering loudly for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Connor enjoyed close relationships with extended family on his dad's and mom's side of the family alike. He doted on the "littles" in his family and the adoration was mutual.

Connor has always been blessed with a close-knit group of friends, starting with neighbors and Eason Elementary classmates. The network broadened and deepened to Waukee High School; these close relationships continued as Connor and his friends headed off to their respective college campuses. Through these tight bonds, friendships were also formed between parents, creating a robust mutual support network.

Connor is survived by his parents, Bryan and Mara Moll; his grandmothers, Wanda Moll and Marjorie Nass; his aunts and uncles, Lori Cartmill, Scott (Le Ann) Moll, Brian (Ronda) Nass, and Miriam (Scott) Carlson; and his cousins, Tyler, Lauren, Bethany (Dave), Ben (Kelly), Greg (Rose Mary), Sarah (Keith), and Jenny.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Gary Moll and Martin Nass.

In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Bryan & Mara Moll for a future memorial in honor of Connor.

Bryan and Mara- My sincere condolences. There are no words that will help lessen your grief, as the loss of a child is unimaginable to most. Hold tight to one another through the coming days, and God will see you through.

I am thankful I had the opportunity to work with Will on the music at his beautiful memorial service. In the midst of helping Will sound absolutely wonderful on the song, I couldn't help but remember the awesome times I had with Connor. He was hilarious and I always looked forward to going to Iowa City and staying at the house whenever I could. Though I'm not an official brother of the brotherhood, I will miss him and his constant positive outlook like no other.

It was a beautiful service today. My heart goes out to all the family and friends. May the circle be unbroken! I'm forever grateful to Connor for teaching me the rules of ladder ball and for inspiring me toward a passion for the game. He was also a really good sport when asked to take part in a photography project involving an article of blue clothing.

Bryan & Mara ~
My sincere condolences to each of you and your families. My heart breaks for yours. What a beautiful celebration of life in honor of your son. From the many stories swapped at work over the years, it was easy to see/hear Connor was a wonderful young man. The testimonies today were a testament to that as well. I pray that God's peace finds you and His light continues to guide you when it's needed the most.

One Sunday afternoon about 7 years ago I found myself locked out of my house, with no one around small enough to get into the garage window and to the opener. I remembered that morning at church Connor's auntBB Miriam (who lives a few miles from me) saying that her family was visiting at her house.
So I called her to see if there was a little person there who could come help me. Sure enough, Brian was about to leave to take some of them to the park in town. He was going right by my house, she said, and would be glad to stop by to help.
When he showed up shortly, out jumped skinny Connor. We helped him up to the window, he got through just fine, and up went the door with the opener.
It was really no big deal to either Brian (Nass) or Connor, but I was so grateful! I thanked them both, and away they went.

Connor will be missed, but be proud of the wonderful life you gave him and know he impacted many people. I really enjoyed seeing him grow up from a kid roughhousing with the neighbors to a fine teenager enjoying touring NYC, he was a very happy guy and fun to be around. I know how much he means to you and nothing can fill that void, but he would want you to find joy again soon. We are all here for you in your journey.
