Tribute & Message From The Family

SFC Ryan John Mueller was born on July 14, 1979, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Wayne Mueller and Karen (Zaczek) Mueller. He attended Milwaukee Technical School and later joined the United States Army in 2003. He serviced in Iraq and after returning home spent 13 years as a recruiter and Center Commander in Minnesota, Iowa, Vermont, Southern Illinois, and Missouri.

Ryan was united in marriage to Ashley (Mitchell) Mueller on March 1, 2014 in Rutland, Vermont. Shortly after they became proud dog parents to Gigi and Harvey. The couple lived in Ankeny, Iowa after Ryan was medically retired from the Army in November 2019.

Ryan dearly loved his Packers, sneakers, tattoos, and his family. He will be remembered for his leadership to many of his solider brothers, his kind heart, sassy personality, the ability to make you laugh until you cried, and his picky tastes in foods.

Ryan is survived by his wife, Ashley Mueller of Ankeny, Iowa; parents, Wayne and Karen Mueller of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; sister, Jodi (Mueller) Carini; brother-in-law, George Carini; and two nieces, Helena and Sophia Carini of Greendale, Wisconsin; beloved dogs, Gigi and Harvey; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ryan passed peacefully on Monday August 3, 2020 at his home in Ankeny with his family by his side. He was 41 years of age and was preceded in death by his grandparents and grandma great.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in Ryan's honor to the neurosurgery unit at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, NY (https://lenoxhill.northwell.edu/)

Ryan always had a smile on his face and what's crazy is with all the adventures we went on I never recall him getting upset, pissed, etc...I think we all need to carry on his memory by smiling more and spreading love like he always did. I'll miss you dearly Ryan.
