Robert worked many years doing carpenter work. He could build just about anything with his hands, including beautiful decks. He also did auto repair, garage door repair in Galesburg, IL, and worked in the moving industry. Robert retired in 2018 from M&M Cartage Inc.

Robert was a loving, devoted husband and a family man. His greatest joy was wrestling with his grandbabies, Sydney, Nevaeh, and Ja'Dein. He had a love for playing cards and was known as the "Vegas Man".

Robert was an outstanding bowler. He loved fishing and piddling around in the garage. QuikTrip and Casey's loved him, as he was known for purchasing his two chocolate Long Johns and a Pepsi every day!

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret L. and Tom Robert McGregor; son, Robert B. McGregor; sisters, Virginia A. Reynolds, Carol L. Carder, Patricia A. Daye, and Beverly Williams; and brothers, Kenneth N. McGregor and Stevie McGregor.

Left to cherish Robert's memory are his loving wife, Saretha McGregor of Ankeny; daughters, Antionett McGregor of Des Moines, Keyaria Jones of Ankeny; sons, Rico Hall and Jeff Murdock both of Des Moines; honorary daughter, Jennifer Sutton of Des Moines; siblings, Clyde McGregor, Donnie McGregor, Larry Carder, Mickey Carder, Ricky Thompson, John McGregor, Timothy McGregor, Scott McGregor, Annette Graves, Sherry McGregor, Donna Kittrell, Jody Smith, and Lana Ford; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
