Arnold Wayne Staub, 77, passed away December 18, 2019 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa. Arnold was born September 23, 1942 in Ottumwa, IA, to Arnold and Phyllis (Orman) Staub. He lived in Ottumwa most of his life before moving to Ankeny in 2016. He met the love of his life, Carolyn Koble, in Ottumwa and they were married for 44 years.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Memorial Services of Iowa, 4208 N. Ankeny Blvd., Ankeny, IA. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 27, 2019, at Ankeny Presbyterian Church, 317 SE Trilein Dr., Ankeny, IA, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Des Moines.

Arnold was an active member in the Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon, Elder, and Clerk of Session. He was also a member of the Blue Lodge Masons in Ottumwa where he volunteered and took part in many fundraisers to benefit the community. He was also a Vietnam Veteran in the Army. He served from 1964 to 1966.

In his free time, Arnold often traveled to Des Moines to see his grandsons and great-grandsons play sports. He also loved animals, especially his dog, Dusty, and cat, Pepper. He liked watching baseball and was a huge White Sox fan.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carolyn; sister, Renee (Gary) Coberly; children, Audra (Victor) Schartz, and William (Linda) Wehage; son-in-law, Tom Gardner; grandchildren, Martina, Jacob, John (Nicole), Andrew (Courtney), and Jennifer (Jason); and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Aaron, Jackson, and Wyatt. He is preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Linda Wehage-Gardner.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League or AHeinz57 Pet Rescue.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to you Carolyn, and Renee and all the family. Remember when Arnie used to come over with you to deliver an Avon order. He was a really nice, caring man and will be greatly missed by many. Our prayers go out to you and you family. May you remember all the good times and the that they will comfort you in your loss.
