I am so sorry to hear about John's passing. I thought the world of John! He was a large presence, but a big teddy bear. I will remember how kind he was to me, especially when I lost my husband at an early age. I will not be able to attend the service as I have moved to Florida. My love and prayers to all of you❤

John had an incredible amount of wisdom. As I became active in ECSAA in 2012, I was most apprehensive about my responsibility. I singled out John for his guidance and mentorship of which John said, "Anthony, all you have to remember is "God, Country, then Self and you'll be all right". During my Presidency of the organization in times of crisis, I remember and heeded the advice John gave. I will never forget this man of strength and faith. God Bless John and his family!

I am saddened to hear of John's passing. We were his neighbors in Ankeny almost 40 years ago. He was a wonderful father, friend; caring and compassionate. I'm sure none of you remember the Liermann family now (Peter, Gayle, Eric, Alex and Kirsten) but I will always remeber John.

So sorry to hear of Johns passing. He was a very special part of our family. Took such good care of my Sister Pauline and was so good to me. I enjoyed many great happy times with Pauli and John
