This is in memory of a dear pal and a very good man. One could say a thousand kind words about Rick but a few simply tell the story......he was a great husband, father, grandfather, friend and a partner to those who needed a helping hand. R.I.P., buddy.

My heart is sad. I remember when I was young I thought that Rick looked like Robert Redford in the movie Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid. After the tornado in the 1970's Rick was who arrived to take us to safety. Barb I send my love & prayers for you & your family.

To Barb and Family,
I was shocked when I saw Rick's obituary in The Des Moines Register. Although he was a year younger than I, we shared pretty much the same journey in small-town Webster City. We always knew one another but it wasn't until long after college, marriage, children, grandchildren and beyond that I finally came to know Rick and Barb as friends. Good people, and I will miss Rick. His presence, his laugh, his down-home warmth. Such a gift to so many.
Trite, but true....I will miss him.
