Tribute & Message From The Family

Margaret "Ann" Breeding, 72, surrounded by family, entered heaven on November 5, 2019 after a two year battle with cancer. A visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Church (510 E. 1st Ankeny, IA 50021). Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 8th, also at the church.

She became the child of Roy and Peggy Baker on November 1, 1947, All Saints Day, in Moberly, MO. Ann was raised in Hannibal, Missouri, graduated from Hannibal High School and attended Northeast Missouri State Teachers College (now known as Truman State University) in Kirksville, Missouri.

Ann worked at Wendt-Sonis in Hannibal and met the love of her life, Chuck, and the two were married November 11, 1967. They moved to several locations due to Chuck's job promotions within Avco and eventually settled in Ankeny, Iowa in 1972. Ann was employed by Iowa Title Company starting as a bookkeeper and ended her career 42 years later as the President, retiring in 2014.

She loved to read, golf, garden, and spend time with friends and family. Chuck's passion for fishing rubbed off on Ann and she accompanied him to Truman Lake many times where they caught their limit and hosted family fish frys! Despite her maiden name of Baker, Ann was more skilled at purchasing baked goods instead of making them! Ann and Chuck have two wonderful children, Jeff (Jonnah) Breeding and Kristi (Kurt) Bogseth and 4 grandkids Benjamin, Maraye, Brandon and Zoey, whom she owes all the love in her life to. She always lit up with happiness when she was around her kids and grandkids!

Retirement saw several trips to Siesta Key, Florida; they also visited St. Maarten, Hawaii, Mexico, and Arizona during their nearly 52 years of marriage. She is survived by her husband Chuck and kids/grandkids along with her brother Roy (Linda) Baker of Texas and sister, Vicki (Pat) Humphrey of Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, David Baker of Missouri.

Condolence & Memory Journal

Ann and my cousin Chuck were steadfast friends over many years, and always a joy and a treat when we were together. She and Chuck were a very special comfort at the time of my sister's death, and also at the death of our mother. Her sense of humor and wry comments enlivened all our conversations. My condolences to Kristi and Jeff and their families. With all our prayers, Father Bob Mahoney
