Marilyn was a 6th grade teacher when I joined the staff in 1977 at Terrace Elementary in Ankeny. She immediately took me under her wing in her motherly fashion. I so appreciated her genuine kindness and advice regarding my Art Club. Years later she bought our condominium and was thrilled to move to Ankeny. I am so sad to learn of her passing. I extend my sympathy to her nieces and nephews.

As one goes through life, its not often that you can look back and remember one of your teachers who truly "inspired you to do better in your academic studies", but that's exactly what Sr. Marilyn Kelley did for me. I was not particularily fond of reading, writing, or giving speeches (when I was in grade school) , but she was my 8th grade teacher ( St. Pius X in 1967-68) and she 'changed all that.. Molly will be missed, but the stories she told will be remembered. Heaven truly gained an angel.

I have many fond memories of visiting Great Aunt Marilyn growing up. Any time we came to visit Family in Kansas City, we'd make a detour to also see her. She was one of the most thoughtful people you'd ever meet. I would always get a birthday card from her, no matter where I was in the world at the time, well into my late 30's!

We will miss you Aunt Marilyn

Love,
Jeremy

While I never met Marilyn in person, I spoke to her on the phone a few times. As the office manager of Ankeny Funeral Home, I would hear from Marilyn about music selections when we would have memorial services at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart. She was always very helpful. My condolences to Marilyn's family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Marilyn was a very loyal donor at the OLIH Blood Drives. I always enjoyed visiting with her in the canteen after her donation. She never missed a blood drive!

Her kind, generous and gentle spirit will be missed in so many ways!

My family and I will cherish our memories if this amazing lady. We loved her not just because she was family, but because of the sweet and dear soul she was.
